The Pundit

The Pundit is a free publication that is released during various Australian film festivals. It aims to offer a comprehensive guide of these festivals for everyday punters, publishing reviews, news and interviews from the festival.
The publication is a fantastic way to give young and emerging writers the opportunity to review live performance and expand their portfolio of work.
How does it all happen?
The Pundit is published in an A4 format magazine, approx 56 pages, with 10,000 copies being distributed at various sites around Melbourne, as well as central CBD University campuses. The magazine is handed to punters at festival venues and all over the city for the duration of the relevant festival. The edition is also published online, allowing for punters to view and add their own comments about reviews published in the magazine.
The aims for The Pundit are:
- To offer punters attending festivals unbiased and comprehensive free coverage of the whole event ‘ not just the headlines.
- To celebrate and publicise Australia’s best festivals.
- To offer young and emerging arts writers the opportunity to review film and publish their work.
- To showcase the work of young writers in the face of VSU legislation.
Working with a wide range of students from La Trobe University, University of Melbourne, Monash University, Victoria University and R.M.I.T, The Pundit hopes to enable young people with the opportunity to have their work published in an arena that will give maximum exposure.
