The Pun for 2009 is breaking new ground in delivering your coverage. We’re branching out into ‘new media’ without using it in the wanky way most people do. You’ll find no useless blogs, pointless feeds or mindless games here – it’s hard hitting comedic reviews coming at you in new and exciting ways!
Traditionally, The Pun is delivered to punters on the streets, in the queues waiting to enter their comedy shows. This year, we still stand by that direct method, but without the horrible waste that unfortunately comes with 30 page magazines that have a three week lifespan. Instead we’re amping up this website to be better, more direct and have more engagement with audiences.
We’re running a dedicated Twitter channel, to engage with people out there in the twitterverse, at home or on their phones at the festival.
Our SMS line is up and running, enabling punters to submit their own reviews (in 140 characters or less), immediately after a show. Coupled with our new Bluetooth review system, we got’s mobile covered.
Our Podcasts are pumping out daily, interviewing a range of comics throughout the festival. You can listen to them online, or subscribe via RSS or iTunes.
And for those who crave the physical printed word, never fear – thanks to our friends at Print Together, we have our brand new postcard reviews, printing on sustainable, ethical stock and distributed to you wherever you are around the festival.
