Raymond Crowe
Billed as Australia’s only unusualist, Crowe lives up to this promise. His show is packed with all of the skills more acquainted with Vaudeville. Crowe combines well timed mime, ventriloquism, magic, illusion, story telling, witty banter and sublime shadow puppetry to create the perfect family show.
One of the most unusual aspects of this show is that it is part of a comedy festival. Although Crowe is a thoroughly engaging and a world-class entertainer, he is definitely not performing comedy. Ignoring the disappointingly small size of the crowd, Crowe works them beautifully and provides numerous opportunities for members of the audience to join him on stage.
The show is timed perfectly for school holidays, offering quality entertainment for every member of the family. Pack up the kids and the grandparents and get down to the Athenaeum.
Unfortunately, despite the brilliance of the performance, it is exactly the same show Crowe brought to Melbourne for the 2009 Comedy Festival.
