Fun MICF facts – week one

Hey Trivia nuts,

Welcome to Fun MICF Facts. Each week I’ll be pointing out mildly interesting trivial facts about the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, comedy in general or any other random things I think of.

  • Did you know that this MICF is Dave Hughes’ 16th, yet it is Steve Hughes’ first?
  • This is Kent Valentine’s first MICF as a father.
  • Dave Bloustein of Puppy Fight offered 2 for 1 tickets at his 2006 Edinburgh fringe season, and received a huge spike in sales. This is despite the fact that his show was free.
  • Yianni Agisilaou supports the North Melbourne football club. As does Greg Fleet.
  • Patrick Miller from Vigilantelope was the high scorer for the St Joseph’s under-14 basketball team in 1994.
  • At this year’s Adelaide fringe the most over used subject for comedy was Pandas.
  • Frank Woodley & Dave Callan both frequent the same gym.
  • When Kevin Rudd appeared on Good News Week, he went to kiss Claire Hooper on the cheek but got the side of her mouth instead. Hot!
  • This is Lehmo’s first MICF without glasses.
  • Celia Pacquola once slipped on another child’s vomit during a performance of ‘Put on a Happy Face’ as part of the Australian girls choir.
