BlockBuster: That little notebook

When you have a writing project on the go, be it a newsletter, article, copy advert or letter of complaint, chances are it crosses your mind at times other than when you sit down to write it. I find myself in half-asleep stupor thinking about my next blog post, or in the middle of a conversation with someone when I remember what I’ve left out of my first draft for a piece of writing. The solution is simple; carry a small booklet (mine fits in jeans pockets and even the smallest handbag) around with you that you can jot down thoughts as they come to mind. Creative writers often use this technique to remind them of new ideas or record inspiration as it comes, and there is no reason that this can’t be adapted to keep all your writing bits and pieces together in one easy-to-check place.

Forget writer’s block. Every Monday it’s time to shake off the weekend lull and re-energise. Have your own BlockBuster? Comment away…
